About Us

My background

Sharon had close to three decades of experience in project management, procurement, and change management, drawn from some of Ireland's most operationally complex and regulated industries,

Sharon began as a software developer in consulting, delivering projects for major Irish organisations including An Post, RTÉ, Eircom, and Vodafone Ireland. She then moved into IT Project Delivery at AVIVA/Hibernian Insurance before joining Accenture and later Ernst & Young, where she specialised in Programme Management in highly regulated industries, including financial services.

Sharon has just finished after 16 years at Aer Lingus, rising through a series of director-level roles that placed procurement, stakeholder relationships, and transformation at the centre of her responsibilities.

Our Beginning

School Project Support and its subdivision, School Meals Support, were founded by Sharon Fleming while she was on a career break and volunteering on the Parents' Association at her youngest son's school.

She saw the volume of non-education-related work being driven by new programmes mandated by the Departments of Education and Social Protection. The Hot Meals Scheme was an example in which there was a need for skills in Public Procurement and Project Management, as well as a significant time commitment from the principals. 

Sharon supported her local schools in 2025 in delivering the Hot Meals Scheme, providing the skills and experience to deliver the programme from start to finish.

What We Do

Schools are being asked to take on an ever-growing range of non-educational responsibilities, from procurement and contract management to regulatory compliance and programme delivery. These are critical to a school's operation, but they are not what principals, deputies, and staff were trained to do, nor where their time and energy should go.

School Project Support steps in to carry that burden. We manage the operational complexity so that school leaders can focus on what matters most: their students.

Why We Do It

We believe that every child deserves a school environment where the adults around them are free to focus on their education and well-being. When schools are weighed down by procurement processes, compliance obligations, and programme administration, that focus can be compromised.

School Project Support exists to change that. We handle the operational side professionally, efficiently, and with the same rigour we would bring to any major organisation, so that schools can get back to what they do best.
